In an unexpected move, Battlestate Games has released an updated ammo chart for Escape From Tarkov that shows all the stats for each ammo type in the game from the important stuff like damage to stats you probably didn’t even know existed like ricochet chance. But, while the info dump is appreciated, it doesn’t fix the fact that a lot of this information is not available in the game.
The updated Escape From Tarkov ammo chart, which can be seen here, is just a Google sheet full of numbers for each different ammo type. It doesn’t make for the most exciting reading, and you are probably better off waiting for the experts to go through and put all the data into a more readable format before trying to gather any information from it. However, if you are just looking for the highest-damage ammo in Tarkov then it might be useful in its basic format.
Getting updated info for the latest patch is great, as it means we finally have proper values to determine the best ammo types to use in Tarkov. But, the fact that we have to go to a random Google sheet to find that information continues to be a problem.
In recent updates, Tarkov has become a much friendlier place, with new systems being added and improvements being made to make the daunting task of learning the game much easier. But one area that remains impenetrable to most players is figuring out the best ammo types. With multiple ammo options for each weapon, some of which are mysteriously much more expensive than others, and limited info on what they do in-game, it is almost impossible to know the best ammo is without looking for a chart online.
Since the last wipe things haven’t been quite as bad thanks to the new recoil and armor systems, but previously and still in some cases, your ammo type can decide a fight, and going in with underpowered ammo can often result in death. So not being able to figure out the best ones in-game seems like a perplexing decision, especially when Battlestate Games is releasing this info publicly for everyone to see if they know where to look.
Hopefully in the next major update, some kind of ammo chart or graph is added to Tarkov so that players can find the information easily without having to go to a random Google sheet to find it, which would make everyone’s lives so much easier.
