The roster for EA UFC 5 is about to get a lot bigger.
EA announced a set of roster updates leading up to International Fight Week in June that will add more than 30 fighters to the game. The first update will hit all platforms on April 4, and the entire series of updates will give the game 98% parity with the current UFC Top 10 rankings across all divisions.
The update is free to all users and could produce exciting new options across every weight class in online championships and other modes.
UFC 300 is on April 13, and nine new fighters will be added ahead of the historic event. Here is a breakdown of all the fighters who will be added from April to June.
All of the content drops correspond with a numbered PPV event.
UFC 300 Roster Updates
Competitive users may be particularly interested in Neal, Nurmagomedov and Lopes in this update.
All three could deliver an exciting combination of strikes and attributes which could make them meta fighters in online championship.
EA offered a preview of the attributes for some of the new additions.
UFC 301 Roster Updates
Page will be the most intriguing addition to this update.
The former Bellator star’s striking figures to be elite and he should also have tons of length for those of us who like to fight from a distance.
Manel Kape can’t seem to find his way back into the Octagon, but his speed and skill set could be a major threat in EA UFC 5.
UFC 302 Roster Updates
Saint-Denis took a tough loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 298, but his cardio and wrestling could be interesting in EA UFC 5.
UFC 303 Roster Updates
You have to be excited about the prospects of playing as Michel Pereira or Joaquin Buckley. Both men are extremely athletic and explosive in real life. If EA translates them that way in the game, they could become new fan-favorite picks in the game.
Chris Curtis could be a sneaky good addition because of his boxing prowess. If he upsets Brendan Allen on Saturday in Las Vegas, it could make him even more dangerous when his character is released in June.
Who’s Not in EA UFC 5?
In case you’re wondering, the only top-10-ranked fighters who aren’t currently in the game or scheduled to be added in the upcoming updates are: women’s bantamweight No. 6 Macy Chiasson, No. 8 Karol Rosa, No. 10 Yana Santos, women’s flyweight No. 8 Natalia Silva and No. 9 women’s strawweight, Luana Pinheiro.
Perhaps those fighters will be added in the second half of 2024.
As it is, the already plentiful options for fighters in the game will be even healthier in the next two months.
