Tuesday is upon us, and there’s just one more of those before it’s November. I hate to say it, folks, but the wick of 2024 has almost burned down. Only a couple months remain. I’m not sure if time is moving quickly or if it’s just that my perception of time has changed over the past few years. It’s unsettling, either way.
For now, we’ll just hunker down and solve this Wordle!

Wordle Analysis
Every day I check Wordle Bot to help analyze my guessing game. You can check your Wordles with Wordle Bot right here.
Today’s guessing game went just fine. I always say, anything less than three and you’re just lucky. Three is the sweet spot of luck and skill. CLONE only left me with one green box, but it slashed the 2300 or so possible solutions down to just 86, and STAIR cut that to 5. Not great odds with five left, but I got lucky guessing SHOUT for the win. You make me wanna kick my heels up and shout!
Competitive Wordle Score
I get 1 point for guessing in three and 0 for tying the Bot. 1 point! Huzzah!
How To Play Competitive Wordle
- Guessing in 1 is worth 3 points; guessing in 2 is worth 2 points; guessing in 3 is worth 1 point; guessing in 4 is worth 0 points; guessing in 5 is -1 points; guessing in 6 is -2 points and missing the Wordle is -3 points.
- If you beat your opponent you get 1 point. If you tie, you get 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you get -1 point. Add it up to get your score. Keep a daily running score or just play for a new score each day.
- Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points—positive or negative.
- You can keep a running tally or just play day-by-day. Enjoy!
Today’s Wordle Etymology
The word shout originates from Middle English shoute or schoute, which itself likely comes from Old English scūt, meaning “a calling out” or “a loud noise.” Its exact origins are uncertain, but it is thought to be related to the action of calling out loudly or making a noise to attract attention. Over time, it evolved into the modern English word shout, maintaining its meaning of a loud call or cry.
