Another fight has reportedly been added to the promising UFC 314 card, scheduled for April 12 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.
According to Marcel Dorff of Tapology, the UFC has inked a flyweight battle between Sumudaerji and Mitch Raposo. Based on the way the card is shaping up, it looks like a fight that will land on the early prelims.
That said, this fight could be wildly spirited because of the stakes—both men are likely fighting for their spots on the roster.
UFC 314 – Win or Go Home
Raposo has been given every opportunity to make a name for himself in the UFC, but he has come up short each time.
He was a part of The Ultimate Fighter Season 29 in 2021, where he lost a unanimous decision to Liudvik Sholinian. Later that year, he was a participant on Dana White’s Contender Series, but he lost to Jake Hadley via second-round submission and failed to receive a contract.
Raposo won four straight fights across Combat Zone, CES, and Cage Titans to earn another opportunity with the UFC in June 2024 at UFC 302. Unfortunately, he dropped a split decision to Andre Lima.
It’s probably not a stretch to say that if Raposo cannot beat Sumudaerji—especially if he’s finished or loses in a forgettable fight—he might be out of opportunities.
As for Sumudaerji, he is hanging on by a thread in the UFC. The 29-year-old veteran from Tibet is on a three-fight losing streak. Most recently, he lost a unanimous decision to Charles Johnson in October 2024.
Four-fight losing streaks are almost always a death sentence in the UFC—unless you’re a legend like Tony Ferguson—and a flyweight in that situation is even more vulnerable.
Unless these two men deliver the Fight of the Night, there’s a good chance the loser’s name will wind up being the subject of a Roster Watch post on X.
UFC 314 Looks Excellent on Paper
If we can believe Bo Nickal, UFC 314 could be an epic card. According to the now No. 15-ranked middleweight, Ilia Topuria will defend his title against Alexander Volkanovski in the main event.
Nickal has also said he wants to be on that card. If the chips fall into place, the lineup below could make up three-quarters of the event—and there’s still the possibility of Jorge Masvidal making an Octagon return on this card.
UFC 314 – Potential Fight Card
(Rumored, Confirmed, and Possible Bouts)
- Ilia Topuria vs. Alexander Volkanovski 2 – UFC Featherweight Championship – RUMORED
- Alexandre Pantoja vs. Kai Kara-France 2 – UFC Flyweight Championship
- Gilbert Burns vs. Michael Morales – Welterweight
- Bo Nickal vs. ??? – Middleweight – POSSIBLE
- Nikita Krylov vs. Dominick Reyes – Light Heavyweight
- Virna Jandiroba vs. Xiaonan Yan – Strawweight
- Chase Hooper vs. Jim Miller – Lightweight
- Alberto Montes vs. Roberto Romero – (Weight Class Not Specified)
- Sumudaerji vs. Mitch Raposo – Flyweight
With two rematches for UFC titles, a fast-rising contender like Morales, a resurgent contender like Reues, a title eliminator of sorts with Jandiroba and Yan, a potential war between Hooper and Miller and high-stakes battle between Sumudaerji and Raposo, UFC 314 could be one of the most well-balanced pay-per-views of the year.
